Brand Guidelines — How to design for Old Navy

OVERVIEW

While working in-house on Old Navy’s Marketing team, I contributed to two major brand repositionings. The example pages shown below were designed as part of one of these strategic shifts, translating the refreshed brand identity into a clear, engaging, and practical documentation of brand guidelines.

The system featured a bold color palette and friendly fonts that reflected Old Navy’s optimistic tone. A vibrant pattern and graphic system added energy and cohesion across seasonal and evergreen campaigns, infusing every touchpoint with a sense of visual play that echoed the brand’s inclusive, fun-loving spirit. The result was a toolkit that empowered designers, agencies, and cross-functional partners to create work that felt unmistakably Old Navy—from in-store signage to digital storytelling.
